Since Oprah is overtly religous it is no wonder the artist was on her show. Something awful is happening in that family I can feel it. Oh, yeah and I have been very imaginative and hollucinating upon awakening ever since I was five off and on. I think children, especially the very young, hollucinate constantly as their brain grows and all these connections are made in the organ. I have not ever seen angels or religous stuff or ghosts. On her web page they say she had a life changing experience or call from god at 4 years old converting the whole family to religion.

I can see both sides of this debate. Thematically her paintings are hackneyed, and stylistically they are somewhat garish. They do remind me of cheesy greeting card art. And hackneyed and garish or not, her work is a hell of a lot more sophisticated than anything I was doing at age It will be interesting to see how her skills develop. I think she is very talented and i think much of the critisism is based in jealousy.

I do agree that the pressure her family and the world are putting on her to be a genious, prodigy, etc will likely end up being very harmful to her creativity if not her mental health.

It is a gift to be admired and she has certainly inspired me. Personally, I think she has a remarkable future ahead of her.
