What is the difference between ping i15 and g15
I'd been thinking about some new ones and had decided on going to have a hit with the G15, but I read a review on the I15 and thought I would give them a go, I had a hit this eve with them 7 only First off the i I was hitting it fine but definate draw, sometimes maybe borderline hook, but not often. With the G my shot was dead straight most of the time with a slight draw now and again or slight right. Most shots with the G felt good hits. Back in the shop the pro asked what I thought and told him, he said he would advise the G, I agree but I had this doubt about that I wanted the I as they will last the longest and I felt looked better at address.
So he said why not go with in G and then 8-pw in G, I thought yeah go with that but now I'm not so sure! Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance Matt. Curls Journeyman Pro Jun 29, Joined Mar 25, Messages 3, I hit the i15s pretty well too didn't like the k15s so much but my dispersion was slightly better with the Gs and no appreciable loss of distance. I went with them and I'm glad I did, for reasons below.
I guess what you're saying is - yes I hit the G15s well but what about in 3 months when Im striking the ball like a legend and I'll need i15s? I can relate. Its a lot of money, but theres a few points to keep in mind: 1. You're off 22, you probably want that to come down, you need game-improvement irons.
The i15s are slightly less forgiving, they offer slightly better opportunity to shape the ball. Are you there yet? My guess is probably not. And if you were you'd be looking at the s56s. I wasn't there when I got fit and while I said to myself "in a few months I'll need the i15s" in reality I havent played as much as I'd like to have in the interim. My game has improved a lot, recently broke 80, comfortably mid-teens and can go to a new track and break 90 no problem.
But am I wishing I now had i15s? Hell no. I just wish I had more time to play, hone the short game, improve my putting, driving, all things I can absolutely do with my G15s just given a bit of practise time. They're great clubs, they give you better misses which is what you need, as the guys at Gainsborough said - if you hit a sweet shot with any club its a sweet shot, what we're trying to do is help you hit good bad ones".
If I'm not hitting the green, its my fault, Ive been changing my swing a lot with a pro, its inconsistent but getting better, having an i15 in the hand would not change that, in fact it would probably compound the problem.
If in 6 months you want to switch to i15s its not like you don't have a serious trade-in at hand, the initial outlays the tough bit. Your pros suggestion of a two-range system is probably playing to your ego slightly, I think you might find them harder to shift that a full set of one typeb. You said the Gs felt good across the board.
Ping removed a lot of the offset in the shorter irons, which makes them easier to control when approaching the green.
You will hit more accurate shots because you can easily feel the club head throughout the swing and it will enable you to adjust the offset on the mid to long irons which will give you more accurate shots. The Ping i15 iron is one of the better clubs in the market right now and there is very little dislike about these irons.
The only real problem is the offset on the mid to long irons, a golfer will have a tendency to pull the clubs to the left because of the offset. But once you get used to it, the irons work really well. It is mainly for the experienced golfer, so it is not advisable to buy them if you are a beginner, high handicapper, or starting to move into the mid-handicap level of play. If you have a experience and want a club that you can work the ball, then these are the irons for you.
However, if you are beginning golfer, stay away from this iron. Beginning golfers need to learn shot making ability and how to strike the ball better before using these irons.
Even though these irons have more of a sweet spot and are more forgiving than the i10 irons Ping manufactures, the beginning golfer will find them hard to hit consistently. These are specifically designed for the experienced golfer, so if you are one then these are the irons for you. The thiefs stand to make more then a few years salary from taking a mold. G2 was my last new one with an X-stiff proforce, but the G15 has caught my eye.
Looks really nice, and a fancy it with either the Voodoo X, or the Diamana. How much are you guys paying in the US? For the guy who improved by 11 shots over 9 holes, wow well done.
You must have been bad the first 9. But blades fab for feel, Cav backs help more people. I have tested the Ping G15 and in my opinion the driver is a 3. Distance was ok forgiveness was good but overall did not live up to the hype for me Bossboy. Go back to the Ping Eyes for the irons…I still have my set and so often think of going back to them.
I wonder if Ping will go to the adjustable clubs, a la Nike and TM. The design of this does look like a Nickent someone mentioned earlier. I gotta say the hybrid is the most unique piece of their new equipments so far. Drivers…ehhh…no big deal. Hit them a couple days ago and was not blown away.
I used to always be addicted to nike irons, drivers, balls, the lot. But when the ping i10 stuff came along I completely switched. Now the i15 are out, I am going to get fitted because they are sooooooo coooll!!!!!
Too me it looks like the PING rapture driver. But it looks like a driver that i could buy in the future. Hey if you get golf digest they have a picture of the new i15 driver. They show it as a non adjustable driver and it is a red gray color.
The very strong rumbling is that the tour is no longer going to adopt the rule, they will stay with current groove specs for the time being. Well the copy pic that you have been able to show does give an excellent look into the future of PINGs new irons. The look at the new I15 driver i saw looks good too. Not enough angles to make a complete judgement on design but does look good. Sole looks maybe a little like Titleist or either Nike sole plate. With the pic i saw being I15 maybe that means there is a G15 also.
So maybe there are 2 drivers G and I. Maybe a few more hints into the complete line. They have grooves that will no longer be conforming, but they also have a deal right now, that if you buy them before the new year is out… you can send them in in either or and replace them for a newer model set… FOR FREE!
Im curious on if we will actually be loosing something with the new groves on the next generation??? My score on the back nine was 11 shots less than my score on the front nine! What a dick! Take your condecending self elsewhere. Learn a little bit more about the technology and the fact the company itself before you go passing an unfounded judgement. This is the most ridiculous comment I have ever seen from someone who says they are a golfer.
You play with whatever suits you. I use cavity backs because i can hit every shot in the book with them, when I use blades i hit nose pickers and even punch shots keep rising and that is any set of blades I have tried. Now read all the blurb on blades are players clubs that can work the ball etc. You buy clubs that suit you end of story. It was 2,3,4,5 cavity and blades Everyone says that Ping irons are manufactured in the U.
But the only way for the Chinese to have an idea of the way the next generation will look like is for the masters and tooling to be executed in China. Which means that the heads are manufactured there also. So goes the fallacy that Pings are only cast in the U. I recently purchased a set of G15 irons with graphite shafts on the internet. When they arrived in about 7 days, they were shipped from China.
I checked with Ping in AZ, they said they were not their numbers. They have black dot and TFC regular flex graphite shafts. The new clubs feel great. Does anyone know about these clubs. Pretty cool post. I just found your site and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed browsing your posts. I like the look of the G15 iron… better than the G Any look at the i15?
